Meet the Team
My name is Heather Roboski and I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been married to my husband Leo for 6 years and I have 3 wonderful human children, Lexi, Hannah and Dylan, and a bonus daughter, Kayla. We have 5 dogs of our own, Phoebe, an 8-year-old mini-Pincher/Dachshund mix, Milo and Roxy, both almost 5-year-old German Shepherd mixes, Nyla, a 1.5 year old German Shepherd and baby Oliver (Ollie), a 5 month old Husky/Malamute mix, who we adopted from Paws 4 a Cause.
We started fostering for Paws 4 a Cause during COVID since we were working from home and really wanted to give back to a rescue that we had seen do so much good. Once we watched our first foster get adopted and saw the kind of life she was living, we wanted to keep doing it! She has a beautiful life and that would not have been possible without her rescue story.
I’m excited to grow with Paws 4 a Cause so I can be a part of helping deserving dogs find their forever, loving homes.

Monika
I’m Monika. I have been around dogs all my life and absolutely love them.
I am experienced with GS’s and love working with medical and fear dogs.
I love all animals and am very passionate about trying to save them. I once saved a baby lizard out of my Parents pool and gave CPR when I was younger. 😂. It survived! 🙌
I currently have 2 GS’s, a cockapoo, a maincoon mix cat and foster dog which is a husky.
I am a Mother of 3 and have 5 grandchildren. I am very much the Mama Bear with humans and fur babies. That’s about me in a nutshell!

Renee Haberl
Renee Haberl - Chiropractor by day - animal rescue the rest of the time. I originally founded Paws 4 A Cause Arizona after rescuing a pup and training her to be my husband's medical alert dog. During this process we fostered an injured and scared dog named Puck from MCACC. We renamed him Jake and made him a part of our family. After seeing all the suffering and afraid dogs, I knew I had to do something. Paws 4 A Cause was born.
I have been around animals my entire life growing up in Iowa. German Shepherds hold a special place in my heart as I made fast friends with Missy, our neighbors Shepherd when I was about 9. Everyone else was terrified of her. My first dog was one of her puppies and I've been hooked ever since.
I live in Cave Creek with my 5 dogs and my amazing husband. When I do take a break, I can be found hiking or training with my dogs.
Mission Statement
Paws 4 A Cause will be compassionate toward all animals in need, to rescue, vet and train as many animals as we can responsibly handle, so that we can ensure these animals are healthy and placed in loving, healthy homes, creating lifelong relationships.

Sue and Heidi
My first meeting with Heidi was actually more of a meeting with her foster mom. Heidi barked at me and wouldn’t let me touch her. She did calm down and I got a good look at her, and immediately fell in love with her. There was another family in the running to give her,
her furever home.
Heidi came to live with me in May 2021, the timing was perfect since I started working from home due to the COVID pandemic. Now, I was in love with her, but I still had work to do to make her fall in love with me. She made herself at home on the couch, and my bed and our bonding began! We went on 2x daily walks and began exploring our environment, took basic obedience training and started venturing out into more public place to work on socializing and calming her reactiveness.
Our first road trip was to Colorado in July 2021. I learned she doesn’t like hotels, she barked at every single sound she heard. I didn’t get much sleep! She learned how to go up and down stairs, met all the family dogs and even learned to swim in a lake! We’ve been on many road trips, some day trips, some vacation trips, she’s even learned to paddleboard. We go hiking every weekend, exploring all the trails Arizona has to offer! Heidi has made lots of friends at our local dog park and enjoys chasing and herding all of them!
Heidi has become my “ride or die” adventure companion. She has filled my heart with so much joy, I can only hope she feels the same for me!
This is the first picture I took!
